AT CAMP PEPPERWOOD, EVERYONE WILL BE PART OF A TEAM—IT’S HOW WE MAKE THE WEEKEND FUN, COLLABORATIVE, AND JUST A LITTLE BIT COMPETITIVE (IN THE BEST WAY).

WE’LL BE SHARING MORE DETAILS AS WE GET CLOSER TO CAMP PEPPERWOOD, BUT AT A HIGH LEVEL, HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

Everyone at Camp Pepperwood - whether you're here for the weekend or just a day - will be part of a team.

  • Teams help organize meals and a bit of friendly competition

  • To encourage new connections, couples and close friends may be placed on different teams (you’ll still have plenty of time together!)

  • Teams will be assigned closer to the event, once we know who’s coming

  • Being a good teammate means showing up, pitching in, staying flexible, and cheering each other on

  • You can earn points in all kinds of ways—creative costumes, volunteering, participation, and more—so bring your team spirit!

Each team will have a Team Captain.

  • Captains help coordinate team efforts for games, meals, and activities

  • They serve as the main point of contact for their team

  • They’re not responsible for doing everything—just for helping organize and support the group

Each team will choose a Maine-themed identity and dress the part to earn points and show off their spirit.

  • Think Team Lobster, Team Moose, Team Pinecone—you get the idea

  • Points will be awarded for best team costume, so bring your creativity (and maybe a wig or two)

  • Themes are first-come, first-served—Team Captains should submit their picks early

Each team will be assigned one or more meals to prepare during the weekend.

  • We’ll handle all the planning and shopping - just show up to cook, serve, and help clean up

  • The number of meals per team will depend on how many teams we have, which is based on RSVPs

  • If you have dietary restrictions, let us know when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly

Field Day is one of the most fun - and point-packed - parts of the weekend, combining relay races, obstacle courses, and just the right amount of chaos.

  • Designed for all ages and abilities, with plenty of ways to join in

  • Whether you’re racing, tossing, solving a puzzle, or cheering from the sidelines, everyone plays a role

  • Go all in with costumes, team chants, and over-the-top enthusiasm

  • It’s all about teamwork, laughter, and making great memories

  • May the most spirited team win!

FAQs

What exactly is Field Day?

Field Day is a fun, team-based event filled with games and challenges—think relay races, brain puzzles, goofy competitions, and a whole lot of cheering. It’s a signature Camp Pepperwood tradition and a chance for your team to earn big points!

Can kids join in?

Yes! Many Field Day activities are kid-friendly, and we’ll make sure there are options that are safe and fun for younger campers to enjoy.

Do I have to be athletic to participate?

Not at all! Field Day is designed for all ages, energy levels, and abilities. There will be a variety of ways to contribute—from physical games to brain puzzles, cheering, and helping run the show. Everyone’s involvement matters.

What if I’d rather not participate in the games?

That’s totally okay. We still encourage you to show up in costume and cheer for your team—you can help take photos, keep your team hydrated, or just be the ultimate hype person.

What should I wear?

Your team costume! Bonus points are awarded for creativity, commitment, and flair. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended.

Are there prizes?

The ultimate prize is glory—and points! Field Day contributes to your team’s overall score, which gets tallied up for end-of-weekend awards. (But don’t be surprised if there’s a silly prize or two!)
